As long as you don't mind the smell
For my good friends out in Chicagoland, a special delivery of some Pak'Ma'Ra. Sorry it took a while to get these posted, I was hoping to have them done on Saturday. I updated my Internet Security software (to Norton 360 2.0) and updated my Adobe to Professional 8. Learning the interface of the new Adobe took some getting used to, some things I can tell I don't like already. For instance, say you have 4 PDFs open at once (like some Pak'Ma'Ra ship sheets) and want to copy and paste some text boxes from an older sheet to the new one. Well, you have to have the toolbar open for the forms to select the objects as a group, and have text boxes selected. But when you switch from PDF to another, the new toolbar you opened isn't there. Had to open it 4 times. What a pain. Anyway, I also had some internet connectivity issues this weekend. I don't know if Comcast was having problems or if its something else, but it took forever for my connection to come back up so I could post this.
Cool music here, it picks up quite good about half way though.

What do you want?
Ummm...The Shadows? yes they're here, so enjoy! Made a couple other small updates as well, corrected the White Star Gunship weapon arc (dang those boresights, another one), and made a fix to the KOTJ4 entry form (forgot to copy over the text boxes for fleet name and player name) should work fine now though.

We have always been here...
Well, maybe true, but they haven't been posted until now. Enjoy the Vorlons!

Watch your wallets
The Brakiri are here! These guys have one of the largest variety and most well rounded fleet selection of any league fleet. Enjoy!
And now for something that you could only find on youtube. Just think, 15 years ago, something like this would have been impossible. Watch it all the way though, its pretty funny. "You reek of America's hat." - my new favorite saying.

I put a lot of work into a prettied-up tournament pack for this years event, I hope you all like the result.

Well, it looked like a boresight...
A longstanding misprint on the White Star I & II cards have been fixed, the notorious boresight that's not a boresight.

Exams are over, for now.
Well, I took my PE exams for the first time this last weekend. They consist of 3 exams - an 8-hour General Civil Engineering Exam, and 2 - 2 1/2 hour state specific exams - Surveying and Seismic. You have to pass all 3 to become a registered engineer in California, but you don't have to pass all 3 the same cycle. So if I pass one of them this cycle, I don't have to take it again next cycle, in 6 months. I felt pretty good about the general exam, I don't have a prayer on the seismic, and the surveying I might pass if I get lucky. Our ten minute warning on that test came as I was on problem 36 of 46, so we'll see. The math isn't hard on the surveying exam, but you need to be very fast at it to complete all the questions in time. I'm sure I'll be taking some of the exams again, in October. Ah well.
So now that those are out of the way for a bit, I'm back in action on ACTA and the website. The first priority is to get ready for the upcoming tournament in May (a little over a month away) the King of the Jumpgate IV, again at Kublacon. I've gotten the new Event page updated for this tournament, all that remains is the tournament outline, which will be similar to last year. I'm sure it will be a great event, and if you're inclined to I encourage you to come on out and play.
My house hunting is going well. A friend of mine just bought a new place in Sacramento, so I've been able to see what I'm up against when it comes to moving. I've been looking for a "new" house but I won't turn down a good deal on an existing (used? ha ha ha) house if one comes up. My current favorite is by a company called Woodside Homes and a home plan called The Maple. It has several features I like; a separate dining room for when family visits (Christmas!!), a big wall in the family room for an entertainment center, a den near the front of the house (office/game room/computer room/overflow guest room), bedrooms at one end of the house away from the noise. They are 1/4 acre lots, which is a little bigger than average in California. They also have built in solar electric installations and a host of energy efficient features. They're close to where I work (about 4 miles) and are above the 100 year floodplain. Drawback, my lack of down payment. I've been saving like mad since I paid off my student loans and my car, but it's not much more than 4% of this homes base price (about $250,000). Good thing is, this development is just starting out and it will probably take time to fill out the entire thing so I have time to wait if I decide I really really want this one.
I found this video about last year's FoW tournament at Kubla...
