Planning for the weekend

I'm hoping to get the Vree posted Friday Night.  I've got a Living Greyhawk game scheduled Saturday so I probably won't have a lot of time then to work on those cards.  I've got about half the ships done, they just need to have the extras added.

I ran my first LG game last night (up until now I've been nothing but a player), "A Long Way for a Little Knowledge" and it went off with only a couple bumps.  Its a fun mod that keeps the players interested, and is pretty well written.

If you play Living Greyhawk and live in Northern California, consider attending the upcoming "Prelate Con" in Tracy, the third weekend in Feb.  Registration closes in a week.  I'll be there and hope to bring back a bunch of mods to the Sacramento area.  Sign up on the warhorn site.

Green!  Purple!

I've added the cards for the Drazi fleet, including the new Fireraptor Battleship from Armageddon, and the Eyehawk and Sleekbird from Signs and Portents Wargamer #38.

If you haven't heard, GenSoCal 2007 is cancelled, and looks like it won't return any time soon.  It didn't "turn the corner" fast enough to be self sufficient, and ultimately it was a business decision.  Although attendance was climbing, exhibitor interest was not.  There's more information here.  So, how does this affect you?  did you ever attend this con? myself, I've given in thought but Gen Con's cost structure always seemed to put me off.  Paying for each game session?  As an RPGA/LG player, that would add up very fast so my opinion was always "forget that..." but it did have some unique facets being the "big deal" for gaming on the west coast.  So, what will be your "Must Attend" convention this year?  Email me and sound off!

Armageddon FAQ

If you haven't read it by now, the Armageddon book has a FAQ which addresses some of the questions raised since its release.  So, rather than start the Drazi cards today, I decided to finish the Vorlons.  I've added the sheet to include the Observation Post and the Vorlon Orbital Installations.  Also, the Armageddon FAQ corrects the Vorlon Light Cruiser Hull to 5, rather than 6, so this sheet is updated as well.

And its already revised

I've revised the King of the Jumpgate III tournament outline PDF to show the tournament schedule.

King of the Jumpgate III

I've posted all the details regarding the upcoming tournament at ConQuest Sacramento 2007 in April.  If you're in the mood for a great tourney, come on down and sign yourself up.  Should be a lot of fun.  If you have any questions about the tourney that isn't addressed, drop me an email.

Well, it looked like a beam...

I had a misprint on the Shadow Hunter card pointed out to me, which has been posted and fixed.

The Vacaville group has really grown in the last year, and seems like the KOTJ III at Conquest Sacramento will have a really nice attendance.  It's looking like 10-12 players, if our good friends from Nevada come again.  Should be a good event.  I'm working on some ideas for the "campaign" idea, we'll see how it goes this year.

I'm going to be working on the Drazi fleet this week.

It was the Third Age of Mankind...

Or of at least the Earth Alliance.  The Third Age fleet cards are now posted.  Enjoy!

Its also 92 days and counting until Conquest Sacramento 2007, held this year at the Sacramento Marriott in Rancho Cordova.  The con is from April 13th to 15th, and is sure to have lots of miniatures gaming, board gaming, card gaming, RPGA/Living Greyhawk gaming, other role-play gaming, guest speakers, food, stuff to buy, paint, and collect, and of course, people to play with, for, and against.  Come on an meet some of the folks from the wider Northern California gaming community, and have a great time.  And oh yeah, we'll have some fun at King of the Jumpgate III!

Check here from pictures from past Conquest conventions!

Whoops!

Sorry LBH, Davesaint pointed out that I had a misprint on the White Star.  I had forgotten to check the Armageddon FAQ which lowered it's Dodge score, and reduces it weapons somewhat.  Thanks for checking up on me!  The corrected page has been posted.

If there's not too many new ships to produce I hope to have the 3rd Age EA fleet done in large part if not completely tomorrow.

Early Update

I finished up the ISA early today so here another update - the ISA fleet!  Enjoy your Dodge 3+, LBH!

Merry Christmas, Happy New Year, and Catching up with my updates...

Hope you had a good holiday season, I know I did.  Though I didn't travel home this year (I can only afford that once a year), my dad is out of the hospital and getting better.  It will be a long road but every day is an improvement.  I was invited to attend a Christmas dinner with my boss's family, who lives about an hour away - it was a really big affair, and was actually at his parent's house - there were two tables, about 20 or so great people, and lots of good food and warm conversation.  Thanks Rick (and Rick's parents, and Rick's family, and Rick's parent's family...it was a great time.  You're "awesome".

I'm going to plug one of my favorite Directors (probably won't be the first time, or the last) but here's a shout out to "Michael Mann."  I got the new Miami Vice DVD for Christmas and I'm probably going to wear it out.  Michael Mann's films are no less than dedicated to the subject matter at hand - every nuance is researched in depth in order to portray the story in the most realistic, dramatic, and visually breathtaking way possible.  He's had some of the best actors in Hollywood to work with, has great cinematography skills.  Check out some of his movies:  The Last of the Mohicans (Oscar Award for Best Sound), Heat (featuring a young Natalie Portman), The Insider (7 Oscar Nominations), Ali (2 Oscar Nominations), Collateral, Miami Vice, among others.

And of course, there are ACTA updates to be had.  I've added The Shadows, The Vorlons (minus the satellite and the observation post for the moment), updated stats for the Command Omega, the new Tiger Starfuries and  T'Rakk Frigate, and an updated Morgrath/Vorchat card page to correct a very minor error.

I'm going to work on the ISA fleet next, and then the 3rd age Earth Alliance fleet.  Both should go fairly quick.

Still looking for more art, anybody interested in showing off their Vree or Abbai?
